This is a rare opportunity to own a pro grade field recorder. They don't make them like this anymore nowadays.
I bought this Sony new sometime in the late 1980s for an A/V project that I was working on. I used it about 3 times in the field.
After that, it was stored away in my collection.
To test it out, I inserted 2 fresh batteries and the cassette tape advanced in PLAY mode. However, there's no tape movement with Fast Forward and Rewind. I think the belts need to be replaced. There's no rattling on the motor, so mechanically, it seems fine. I don't know if there are other faults. Please keep this in mind when bidding.
To bring this Sony TC-D5M up to specs, it should be
professionally serviced/repaired.
