Detailed Background Information
Race program for the 1978 United States Grand Prix Formula 1 race held at Watkins Glen on October 1, 1978, won by Carlos Reutemann in a Ferrari.  This rare program is from the World Championship season of Mario Andretti and the great Colin Chapman ground effects Lotus 79 (Andretti had victories at the Argentina GP, Belgian GP, Spanish GP, French GP, German GP at Hockenheim, and the Dutch GP at Zandvoort; as well as a 2nd place finish at the USGP West at Long Beach).  The entry list for this race reads like a Formula 1 hall of fame list including:
